The initiative is part of the H2 Summer School 2026, a training programme dedicated to hydrogen and energy transition topics, involving students, young researchers, professionals and stakeholders from academia, industry and institutions. Within this dynamic and multidisciplinary environment, the event represents an opportunity for discussion and in-depth analysis of some of the most relevant challenges of industrial decarbonisation.

This dissemination event was conceived with the aim of sharing results, experiences and perspectives from the IPCEI HYDRA projects, contributing to the spread of knowledge and concrete solutions to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable, resilient and innovative industry, in line with European and national objectives.

During the event, also thanks to direct interaction with participants through discussion sessions and Q&A moments, several key topics were explored in depth:

1. the role of biofuels as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels

2. technologies for the production and valorisation of bio-syngas and hydrogen

3. applications in industrial processes, with particular reference to steel production

4. prospects for integration between bioenergy and hydrogen in production systems

5. the contribution of these solutions to climate neutrality objectives.

 

The event thus represented a concrete opportunity to bring together education, research and industry, offering participants an integrated view of future energy pathways and decarbonisation technologies.
